DAY 01 ARRIVAL AT THE BUS STATION
/ VISIT OF KUELAP (3030 masl)
Llacta Kuélap is a massive elliptical-shaped construction that rises to 3,030 meters in altitude on a mountain ridge overlooking the upper Utcubamba Valley. The citadel impresses with its extensive high-tiered platforms, temples, and the spatial distribution of the 420 circular dwellings within it. Initially considered a fortress, later research has identified it as a fortified citadel.

DAY 02 VISIT TO GOCTA
Gocta Falls is a 771-meter-high waterfall with a two-stage drop. To reach its base, whether from San Pablo de Valera or Cocachimba, a 5.5-kilometer hike is required. The round-trip journey takes approximately 5 hours. The trails pass through farmland and forests, where, early in the morning, the Andean cock-of-the-rock can sometimes be spotted.

DAY 03 VISIT TO KARAJIA AND QUIOCTA CAVE
The Sarcophagi of Karajia is a Chachapoya funerary site. These are anthropomorphic capsules made of clay, cane, and lime, decorated with red paint over a lime slip. They are considered the most important group of sarcophagi of the Chachapoya culture, perched on the ledge of a high cliff.

The Quiocta Cavern, the first illuminated cave in Peru, consists of a single horizontal gallery approximately 545 meters long. Near the entrance, you can observe rock paintings that, thanks to restoration efforts, are now visible with greater clarity. Inside, human and animal bones, as well as fragments of ceramics, can also be observed.
